About the Food Service Coordinator position

We are looking for a professional Food Service Coordinator to join our team. Under the direction of the Food Service Supervisor, you will be assisting in the planning, quality and presentation of food served. The coordinator will play a critical role in the supervision and training of the kitchen staff. Also, they are required to follow the health and safety rules to exemplify customer satisfaction at it’s highest.

Food Service Coordinator responsibilities are:

  • Oversee and assist with the daily preparation of meals

  • Assist in creating high quality menu items, and develop a fun dining experience for campers, staff, and volunteers.

    • Prepares food per Food Service Supervisor’s instruction

    • Supervises staff during their shift

    • Assists with training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems

    • Cleans dishes, trays, utensils, kitchen and dining room

    • Maintain a “service with a smile” attitude

    • Advises Food Service Supervisor when inventory supplies and equipment are needed

    • Assists with checking in food orders as they are delivered per procedures

    • Assists in maintaining dry storage area, freezers and walk-in coolers in a clean and organized manner

    • Follows all safety and sanitary standards in accordance with Camp For All, Texas Department of State Health and American Camping Association standards

    • Maintains flexible work schedule, with ability to work extended hours as needed

    • Orders food inventory in absence of Food Service Supervisor

    Food Service Coordinator requirements are:

    • 2 years or more in a food service environment to include: food safety, food prep, cooking, cleaning and sanitation.

    • Familiar with hospitality principles

    • Must be detail oriented and have excellent time management skills
    • Must be a team player but able to work independently as needed

    Food Service Coordinator physical demands:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee will be working with multiple kinds of tools and equipment and will be expected to maintain safe working conditions at all times.
